I was at the zoo with my kids when I was caught by this site. All of the flamingos in one group lined up, head down, with this fantastic abstract distortion of color and image in the reflection. I just couln't resist it ....

Sparkles

This wall was so cool, in a very overpriced cafe in Paris. I was trying to figure out how they did it exactly, but all I know is that they are Christmas lights behind what I"m thinking to be a glass wall. Anyway, the effect was really cool. I like how the lights are just random and seem to sparkle.

Port in a Storm

I lost my previous blog and am now attempting to replicate it. I was trying to capture lightening bolts during this weekend's storm but had no luck with my digital. So, I began to focus on the contrast between the darkness of the stormy night and the porch light across the street. It seemed to sum up the feeling of the evening....rather foreboding with just the one bright area of the door.....an escape from the darkness.

Shadows

Randomly taking pics one day I became interested in the shadows the sun cast on everything especially my own (which has been known to scare me from time to time) because of how long they become. I think it's cool how the shadow of something can appear totally different than the object itself.

So... I thought this image was kind of interesting. I like all the blackness surrounded by the fuzzy looking light it the center. I took the picture at night of one of the warning lights that kept flashing in my car.

SHADOWS

this is enjoyable to look at because i think the plant itself is an interesting shape so the shadow cast an interesting shape on the wall. the amazing thing about this plant is that its hard to kill too! you only water it once a month and it lives forever and grows like a weed so thats why its kind of sloped over to the side.

Water on Fire!

While driving around I noticed the way that the lights shone off the water. I looked so pretty so I just had to take a picture of it and it turned out much better on camera. There were two different lights next to eachother so the first picture is from an off-white lamp. The second is from another orange one but not as intense as the third, and the third is from the same orange one just close up to show the intensity. I enjoy the way that these turned out very much.

I saw this house in a neighborhood behind the arts district and it made me think of beauty because it looks as if the house possibly thrived in it's hayday, but now it's falling apart. It kind of reminds me of the movie Monster House, especially seeing it up close.

Up Close and Personal

It has been mentioned to me that I seem to always take pictures of close up images. I guess I do because, to me, no one really processes the whole picture; we just pick an area of focus. So, for this blog, I have "focused" on some close ups of various things and the emotional impact that can have on the viewer....from my sock monkey slippers in the snow, to the view when watering a plant, to my dog's nose (this must be how they see most things), to my rear view mirror on a rainy day (the past or what's following you....depending on how you think). What do you think? That's it for me tonight as I am stressed out and "all done in".

Swirly Landscape

You'll have to excuse the blurryness (although I don't mind it so much - kinda gives it a cool texture and grunge feel). I just liked the swirly lines and all the stuff going on in the background. It's actually a perfume bottle. It's really not so dark, its just the background making it look that way.
