Had a Bad Day?

My son's first full blown black eye happened recently. As a mother, you have to understand that a call from the nurse's office alerts you immediately but, after you're old like me, age adds a buffer of calmness to the reaction which actually helps you be more effective when you arrive to deal with the adults and your child who only wants to be reassured that you are there and going to make sure they are taken care of.....in summation...they will not be dieing that day. I assure you, it is an honor to be in that type of position and elevates your worth for your 15 minutes of total fame to your loved one. This is a documentation of that first black eye for my son who, along with another vivacious boy, never saw the "train wreck" until it was too late on the Maize playground. I was a hero for a day.
